Her very first voice student’s quality of life was greatly improved when he was able to breathe more easily as a paraplegic. This experience sparked a deep desire to use music not just to teach a skill, but to improve the quality of life for all. This has led her to work over the last 6 years as a music specialist for PA Connecting Communities creating themed music activities and working as Music Coordinator at Vincentian Home utilizing the music and memory program to enhance cognitive function for the residents.
Heather has been happily married to her husband Steven for the last 21 years and they have a son in high school and a daughter in college pursuing a career in music therapy. The family has achieved black belt status in Tang Soo Do and they enjoy playing board games together.
