Nathan Bodnar

Percussion, Luthier

If you are a regular customer of Noteworthy Music, you have met Nathan Bodnar. He has worked here since 2016, and does just about everything: from running the store, to working in the shop, to managing the inventory. And he is one of Noteworthy’s percussion instructors! He is currently mentoring as a repair technician and recently completed an luthier apprenticeship

Nathan has been playing drums for 20 years. He took private lessons at Noteworthy Music from a man named Bill Freeburn (Duquesne University-Classical Percussion) who was trained by John Soroka (Duquesne/PSO).

Nathan specializes in jazz, funk, rock, and pop. He currently tours in an alternative pop band called Red Letter Hymnal.
His favorite band is Def Leppard and believes that “if it had big hair then it’s right up [my] alley!”

Nathan is happily married to his high school sweetheart—a respiratory therapist at Shady Side Hospital. They recently welcomed their first child, Isaac to their sweet family.
