Nathan Graham
Double Bass, Electric Bass, Piano
Nathan Graham is a versatile freelance double bassist located in Pittsburgh, PA. He frequently performs with numerous regional ensembles, including as a tenured member of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra. Nathan is also a regularly hired guest musician of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra, Canton Symphony Orchestra, Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Akron Symphony Orchestra, and Annapolis Symphony Orchestra.
Nathan will be serving as the Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra's double bass coach and as a Teaching artist in Residency with the Seneca Valley School District beginning in Fall 2026. Additionally, Nathan has experience teaching double bass to students of all ages and skill levels. He has also taken pedagogy classes in strings and piano with June Huang at George Mason and has experience teaching beginning violin, viola, cello, and piano. Nathan enjoys championing new music, most notably in a 2024 recital featuring all living composers including a work he commissioned.
Originally from Fairfax, Virginia, Nathan holds a Bachelor of Music degree from George Mason University and a Master of Music degree and Advanced Music Studies certificates from Carnegie Mellon University. Nathan's formative teachers include Micah Howard, Barbara Fitzgerald, Glenn Dewey, and Peter Guild.
